Mister Gira & herr Hann, the great sound of the Swans duo

Take notes: April 12th at Teatro Miela in Trieste and the following day at Spazio Teatro 89 in Milan.

di Luca Testoni

It will be an opportunity to see in action, in a different dimension than usual, the almost 70-year-old American singer, guitarist and composer Michael Gira, leader of Swans, the iconic brand of experimental rock Made in New York, on the road since the days of the no wave scene of the early 1980s, and his old partner, German, born in 1959, Kristof Hahn, known for his lap-steel guitar playing.

The two travelling companions have already undertaken extensive solo tours in the past. On this occasion, they decided to combine their musical visions for a brand new duo project. A project in which there is room for instrumental themes and songs, drawing inspiration from reinterpretations of Swans music, new songs and other material. All deliberately poised between sound storms, ethereal melodies and melancholic folk. And who knows, maybe we’ll get a sneak preview of Birthing, Swans’ triple album due for release by 2025.

May the great sound be with you…
