After the pandemic brought live music to a grinding halt, this autumn we once again begin to perform, to organize festivals and to export our music all around the world.
This September, Ponderosa ends the summer with a bang, welcoming autumn with a string of festivals and concerts
The great Ponderosa-branded live tours of the summer continue in August throughout Italy (and beyond). Performances by an incredibly diverse cast of male and female artists, who all have in common an extraordinary talent and stage presence.
Bringing music back onto the path of Nature, inviting audiences to “walk” with him, as one of the most committed artists in the fight against climate change.
Giovanni Truppi’s Adventure
In the summer of 2020, as he emerged like all of us from the first Covid lockdown, Neapolitan singer-songwriter Giovanni Truppi loaded up his portable piano onto a trailer and kicked off a truly special tour, starting from Ventimiglia and Trieste, which he called “A Journey Along the Borders of Italy”. It was inspired by “The Long Road of Sand”, a book by Pier Paolo Pasolini which recounts a similar journey undertaken by the writer in 1959. The chronicle of Testoni’s travels, accompanied by his voice and piano, is now at the center of a book, newly released by independent publisher La Nave di Teseo, called “L’avventura” (“The Adventure”). From the book’s notes:
Thirty-one days, sixteen artists artists and sixty-one concerts
Thirty-one. Sixteen. Sixty-one. Thirty-one for the days in the month of July. Sixteen for the number of artists from the Ponderosa team who will play live on tour throughout the course of this month. Sixty-one, for the number of concerts they will perform all around Italy. These are blessed numbers for live performers, who were hit hard by the lockdown and color-coded restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
