Renato Sellani
BIO
Renato Sellani (1926-2014) was one of the most important Italian jazz pianists of the national and international panorama. There were many great artists that tied their names with Sellani’s, such as Gerry Mulligan, Billie Holliday, Ginger Rogers, but also the iconic Mina, Luigi Tenco, and Lucio Battisti.
His last album Glad There is You was recorded for Ponderosa Music & Art in 2014, a few months before his passing. The project saw on the first record a program of Italian songs from the Sixties and on the second a collection of originals, almost as if the Master wanted to leave a passionate collection of his career entirely curated by him.
