Climbing the little streets of Monforte d’Alba, the splendid center of the Piedmonts Langhe and home to the great producers of Barolo, we find ourselves won over by the beauty of the Auditorium Horszowski, situated on the peak of the ancient medieval a unique place and one of the most characteristic locations of the Italian festival panorama: here, most of the renowned and appreciated protagonists of the international music scene have been bringing to life f a unique event for more than forty years. The artistic quality and sophistication of the performers merge into the Monfortinjazz program to offer to an increasingly international audience a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The open-air auditorium takes advantage of a natural cavea situated between the ancient bell tower on top, the Saint Agostino parish on the left and at the bottom, and, as the stage background, the Castello Scarampi walls, and the Saint Elisabetta parish. The auditorium has been named in 1986 after the great Russian pianist Horszowski after one of his memorable concerts.
