Dimitri Grechi Espinoza

Angel’s Blows is the first of the three albums composing Dimitri Grechi Espinoza’s collection OREB. A record for a solo instrument conceived not to be a moment of solo listening, but of reflection on the «sound prayer», as the artist intended.

The sound of the sax (called «Oreb», another name for Mount Sinai) in this album is conceived as a sound sculpture that keeps track of the physical space that surrounds it. The architectural and artistic marvels meld with the notes of the compositions-improvisations of Grechi Espinoza. The titles (L’Altissimo, La Sua Bellezza, L’Onnipotente) refer to the idea at the foundation of the project, a record that is not destined for easy consumption, but for being played through an adequate system in order to gather every secret sound.
