Rokia Traoré

Beautiful Africa was published for Ponderosa Music & Art on the 8^th of April 2013 and is an album full of meaningful and powerful songs that show the incredible extension of Rokia’s voice and the complex variety of all her works.

The album is Traorè’s personal interpretation of rock, her first true musical love, without forgetting her origins. The nine tracks are full of West African melodies which are mixed with typical rock guitar and bass riffs.

Rokia trusted John Parish – author, guitarist, and producer of artists like Tracy Chapman, Eels, Cleo T. and PJ Harvey – with the production of the album, which is a perfect example of the artistic soul of this extraordinary musician.
