Kalàscima
K
K is the third album by Kalàscima produced by Ponderosa Music & Art and Ipe Ipe Music. It is a record with a pronounced international aspiration that marks a step forward in the Apulian band’s ongoing research of a new sound.
Another step for Kalàscima that through an indie-rock approach, the use of electronic music, the aid of a laptop and a loop machine, tried to redraw tradition with an urban and contemporary sound.
An updating process developed through years of international tours that saw the band perform in the most important festivals in the world. The result is a powerful record: ten tracks in Italian, dialect, English, and Griko, that creates an imaginary bridge between Apulian music and the international scene. A record where the Salentinian alla stisa songs meet songs from the Mongolian traditions and Grikan poetry, and where Franco Corlianò has a conversation with William Blake’s verses.
