Fomenta, produced by Ponderosa Music & Art, is an additional turning point in Antonio Castrignanò’s already eclectic artistic propositions. It sees him involved in electronic incursions developed alongside Turkish DJ and multi-instrumentalist Mercan Dede: a short circuit for which the musician from Salento once again finds the keystone between his tradition-tied personal expression and expressions inspired by contemporary sounds.
With his ear paying attention to past writing styles, and the curiosity of who wants to live in the present accepting its challenges, Antonio uses the expressive tension moving between these two directions to build a wholly personal repertoire, often characterized by autobiographical compositions.
In Fomenta traditional places, stories, legends, aromas, flavors, tears, and joy are connected to the contemporary worlds and, through the meticulous instrumental and content research efforts carried out by the artist, the result is a cosmopolitan project with interesting electronic incursions and suggestive inserts of eastern music.
