Thirty-one<\/span>. Sixteen. Sixty-one. <\/span><\/span>Thirty-one for the days in the month of July.<\/span> Sixteen for the number of artists from the Ponderosa team who will play live on tour throughout the course of this month. Sixty-one, for the number of concerts they will perform all around Italy. These are blessed numbers for live performers, who were hit hard by the lockdown and color-coded restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

July will be a very busy month for Cristina Don\u00e0, the Lombardy-born singer-songwriter who recently announced the release of her new studio album \u201cdeSidera\u201d, slated for next autumn and preceded by the single \u201cDesiderio\u201d. On July 5th Cristina will perform in Reggio Emilia (Chiostri di S. Pietro), as part of the Mundus Festival; on the 7th she will be in Genova (Giardini Luzzati), for the Lilith Festival; On July 9th she will take part in the Villa Arconati Festival in Castellazzo di Bollate; On July 14th she will perform in the small Tuscan town of Bientina (Villa Pacini-Battaglia), as part of the Musicastrada Festival; on the 23d she will take part in Bergamo\u2019s Summer Revolution festival; on the 30th she will perform at the NoFestival, in the Medieval town of Castelbasso, near Teramo; finally, on July 31st, Cristina Don\u00e0 will be in Locorotondo, near Bari (Masseria Ferragnano), for a special performance with fellow singer-songwriter Niccol\u00f2 Fabi as part of the Locus Festival.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of singer-songwriters, on July 2nd Pacifico will perform at the Bmw Urban Store, as part of the Milanesiana multi-disciplinary festival; Giovanni Truppi, for his part, will participate in the Festival della Filosofia at Rome\u2019s Monk club on July 1st; the following day (July 2nd) he will be at the Villa Alduini gardens in Bologna, as part of the \u201cInosservanza\u201d festival; two more performances will follow, at the Rapsodia Festival in Misano Adriatico (July 13th); and in Maruggio Campomarino (July 25th).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On July 3rd, Francesco Bianconi will perform in Monforte d\u2019Alba; on the 11th he will take part in the Arti Vive Festival in Soliera, near Modena; on the 13th he will be at Milan\u2019s Estate Sforzesca festival; on the 14th he will play at the Teatro d\u2019Estate in Sogliano al Rubicone (Forl\u00ec-Cesena); on the 15th, at the Orto sul Colle dell\u2019Infinito garden in Recanati (Macerata); and on the 25th he will perform in Maruggio Campomarino (Taranto). His Baustelle bandmate Rachele Bastreghi is also slated to perform two shows: one at the Museo Pecci amphitheater in Prato, on July 11th; the other at the \u201csferisterio\u201d, an ancient sports arena in Sant\u2019Arcangelo di Romagna, on July 16th.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lucio Corsi, another Tuscan artist like Bianconi and Bastreghi, is slated to perform as part of the Arti Vive Festival in Soliera on July 8th; on July 10th he will be in Pistoia\u2019s piazza Duomo; on the 15th, he will perform at Anfiteatro del Venda in Galzignano Terme, near Padova; two more performances will follow: one at the Risorgimarche Festival in the small town of San Severino Marche, near Macerata, on July 27th, and another one in Verrucchio on the 28th.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Nature reserves, national parks, sunrises, sunsets and starry skies: this summer, Ludovico Einaudi will bring his music back on the road and back to nature. Audiences will have a chance to see the renowned pianist and composer perform in Bardonecchia, in the wonderful setting of the Chesal, a panoramic venue 1800 meters above sea level, on July 21st; on July 22nd, Einaudi will be in Bellinzona; on the 24th he will perform as part of the No Border Festival at Laghi di Fusine in Tarvisio; on the 25th he will move to Plan de Corones, in the Alto Adige region; on the 27th he will perform in the atmospheric Radura (glade) of Pietra dell\u2019Uso in Sogliano al Rubicone (Forl\u00ec-Cesena); on the 30th he will be at the Pieve San Pietro della Romena, a parish church in the town of Pratovecchio Stia, near Arezzo; finally, on July 31st, he will perform at the Serrasanta hermitage in Gualdo Tadino (Perugia), as part of the Suoni Controvento festival.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Following Einaudi in his live tour, Albanian cellist Redi Hasa will play three shows of his own at the head of a four-piece ensemble, performing tracks from his new album \u201cThe Stolen Cello\u201d: on July 3d they will perform at Milan\u2019s Triennale garden; on the 4th, at the Teatro Koreja in Lecce; and on the 14th, on the terrace of the public library of Settimo Torinese. In the same town of Settimo Torinese, on July 17th, Avion Travel will also perform a live concert in piazza della Libert\u00e0 as part of their Oppl\u00e0 Tour.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Justin Adams (a brilliant guitarist and producer, Robert Plant\u2019s longtime right-hand man, a musician constantly possessed by the spirit of blues, with a passion for African groove and an interest in trance) and Mauro Durante (a brilliant violinist and composer, who spearheaded the \u201cPizzica\u201d Renaissance as a member of the award-winning Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino) first met onstage during the Notte della Taranta folk music extravaganza, about ten years ago. They are now reuniting for a few very special performances, starting on July 4th as part of the Climate Space festival in Melpignano; on the 14th they will play at the Teatro Comunale Oceano dei Suoni in Bologna; on the 16th they will perform in Milan\u2019s Protestant Church, and on the 17th in the church of Sant\u2019Ambrogio Trezzano sul Naviglio, as part of the Musica dei Cieli festival; finally, on July 28th, they will play as part of the Festival delle Colline Mediterranee in Salerno. And speaking of folk music, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino will perform live on July 24th as part of the Glatt und Verkehrt festival in the Austrian city of Krems. Three shows abroad are also scheduled for Antonio Castrignan\u00f2, who will play at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, from July 22nd through the 24th.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But wait, there\u2019s more: Frankie HI-NGR MC and AljazZeera will perform in the courtyard of Palazzo Traversa in Bra on July 3d; on the 16th they will be at Villa Arconati; and on the 22nd in the town of Marina di Loano, near Savona; the Quinteto Astor Piazzolla, for their part, will bring the music of the Argentinian Tango master to the Mat festival in Civitanova Marche on July 13th; on the 15th they will perform in Lugo di Romagna; on the 16th they will play as part of the \u201cMont\u2019Alfonso Sotto le Stelle\u201d festival in the town of Castelnuovo d\u2019Orcia, near Siena; on the 17th they will take part in the Otranto Summer Festival; on the 18th they will perform at Arena Santa Giuliana in Perugia, as part of Umbria Jazz; their last performance will be at the Ravello Festival on July 22nd.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Last but not least, Catalan singer-trumpetist Andrea Motis will perform live at Milan\u2019s iconic Blue Note club on July 15th; and American singer-songwriter and guitarist Micah P. Hinson has no less than five shows scheduled for this month throughout Italy: on July 17th he will play at the Cantina La Calcinara in Candia (Ancona), as part of the Sconfini Fest; on the 19th he will be in Polignano a Mare (Bari); on the 25th at the Roman Theater of Fiesole, near Florence; on the 27th he will perform a beach concert in Marina di Ravenna (Hana.Bi); his tour will end on July 31st as part of the Zal Fest in Chiusi, near Siena.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
