Among the new additions to the lineup are two consecutive concerts by Erykah Badu<\/strong> on October 19th<\/strong> and 20th<\/strong>. The queen of American neo-soul will perform at the Teatro Nazionale<\/strong>, bringing her new project, \u201cImeho, an intimate experience with Erykah Badu.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n In strict chronological order, the newly added live shows also feature world-jazz revelation L\u2019Antidote<\/strong> on October 22nd<\/strong> at Santeria Toscana<\/strong>, and on the same day, trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso<\/strong> will play a double set at the Blue Note<\/strong>.<\/p>\n On October 27th<\/strong> at Alcatraz<\/strong>, Mali’s Rokia Traor\u00e9, <\/strong>having put behind her the legal custody battle over her daughter, will return to delight the audience with her signature songwriting.<\/p>\n October 28th<\/strong> will mark an Italian debut at the Auditorium San Fedel<\/strong>e for a supergroup delivering a sonic blend of Nordic folk, minimalism, ambient, and jazz. Conceived by Belgian guitarist and sound artist Bert Cools<\/strong>, the lineup includes Icelandic musicians Gy\u00f0a Valt\u00fdsd\u00f3ttir (formerly of M\u00fam)<\/strong> and Kjartan Sveinsson (founder of Sigur R\u00f3s)<\/strong>, alongside Lithuanian singer Indr\u0117 Jurgelevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 (Merope).<\/strong><\/p>\n October 29th<\/strong> offers an incredibly exciting double bill: at the Teatro Lirico<\/strong>, Paolo Fresu<\/strong> and his quintet will perform live the famous improvisations Miles Davis<\/strong> composed for the soundtrack of Louis Malle<\/strong>‘s “Elevator to the Gallows”<\/i>. Meanwhile, at Biko<\/strong>, the spotlight will be on Idris Ackamoor<\/strong>, the multi-instrumentalist who founded The Pyramids<\/strong> in the early 1970s<\/strong> at an Ohio college, and who has always been a champion of the Afro-futurist sound.<\/p>\n On October 31st<\/strong> at the Teatro della Triennale<\/strong>, Enrico Intra<\/strong> will take on the compositions of Gerry Mulligan<\/strong>, followed by the trio of pianist Gaetano Liguori<\/strong>. On the same date, Biko<\/strong> will host a DJ set by S!rene<\/strong>, blending jazz, afrobeat, and African funk.<\/p>\n Also at the Triennale<\/strong>, highlights include Dimitri Grechi Espinoza<\/strong>‘s trio on November 1st<\/strong> with their meditations on John Coltrane<\/strong>‘s masterpiece “A Love Supreme”<\/i>. On November 3rd<\/strong>, saxophonist David Binney<\/strong>, drummer Louis Cole<\/strong>, and bassist Pera Krstajic<\/strong> will explore the cutting edge of modern jazz.<\/p>\n Furthermore, the legendary Dee Dee Bridgewater<\/strong> will perform a two-night residency at the Blue Note<\/strong> on November 4th<\/strong> and 5th<\/strong>. Also on November 5th<\/strong> at the Triennale<\/strong>, “A New Sketches of Spain”<\/em> will celebrate the centenary of Miles Davis<\/strong>‘s birth. The stage will feature Spanish flamenco dancer and choreographer Israel Galv\u00e1n Reyes<\/strong> alongside a chamber orchestra led by former Steely Dan<\/strong> trumpeter Michael Leonhart<\/strong>. That same evening, Dario Jacque<\/strong> will pair up with Filippo Bubbico<\/strong> at Biko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
