Mike Patton <\/strong>was born in 1968 and is one of the most versatile, peculiar, and eclectic figures of the rock scene. During his entire artistic journey, he divided his time between his solo career, his producing career, and the membership to numerous bands such as Faith No More<\/strong>, Mr. Bungle<\/strong>, and Fant\u00f4mas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faith No More<\/strong>, impressed by the versatility of the artist, asked Patton <\/strong>(then a member of Mr. Bungle<\/strong>) to join the band in 1989. Mike <\/strong>accepted on the condition he didn\u2019t have to leave Mr. Bungle<\/strong>. FNM<\/strong>\u2019s new formation reached international fame thanks to albums like The Real Thing <\/em>(1989), Angel Dust <\/em>(1992), and Album of the Year <\/em>(1997). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Bungle,<\/strong> in the meantime, signed a record contract with Warner Bros. also thanks to the notoriety reached by Patton. <\/strong>they released Mr. Bungle<\/em>in 1991 andDisco Volante <\/em>in 1995. It was this last album that the critics found absolutely brilliant and that consolidated the band\u2019s ability to tear down the musical genres\u2019 barriers to breathe life into an umpredictable and innovative sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1998 Faith No More <\/strong>broke up and Patton <\/strong>embarked on a new music project: the super band Fant\u00f4mas<\/strong> which was the participation of Slayer\u2019s drummer Dave Lombardo <\/strong>and Mr. Bungle\u2019s bassist Trevor Dunn<\/strong>. Fant\u00f4mas <\/strong>published their first album, Fant\u00f4mas<\/em>, in 1999 and the same year, Patton <\/strong>and Mr. Bungle released the band\u2019s best album, California<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first decade of the 2000s was a particularly busy period of time for Mike<\/strong>. He released alongside Fant\u00f4mas, the band\u2019s second album, The Director\u2019s Cut<\/em> (2001); He founded the experimental band Lovage <\/strong>with which he released Lovage: Music to Make to Your Old Lady By <\/em>(2001); He collaborated with Peeping Tom <\/strong>for their 2006 pop record Peeping Tom.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In  2010 Patton <\/strong>released an album inspired by Italian music. In Mondo Cane<\/em> <\/strong>he interpreted songs from the Fifties and the Sixties by Mogol <\/strong>(\u201c20 Km Al Giorno\u201d, \u201cL\u2019Uomo Che Non Sapeva Amare), Gino Paoli <\/strong>(\u201cSenza Fine\u201d, \u201cIl Cielo in Una Stanza\u201d), and Ennio Morricone <\/strong>(\u201cDeep Down\u201d, \u201cQuello Che Conta\u201d),with the right amount of respect due to the iconic genre but without losing his originality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2012 Mike <\/strong>curated the soundtrack for the neo-noir film direct by Derek Cianfrance. the Place Beyond the Pines<\/em>, and in 2015 he published together with Faith No More, Sol Invictus<\/em>, the first album by the band since 1997\u2019s Album of the year<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017 Patton <\/strong>released Dead Cross<\/em>, the debut album by the eponymous hardcore-punk group founded together with Dave Lombardo and the members of the punk band Retox. While in 2019, he collaborated with French composer Jean-Claude Vannier for the album Corpse Flower<\/em>. 
In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, he published 12 Songs from Home<\/em><\/strong>, a collection of tracks played in his home vertical studio, and subsequently Einaudi Undiscovered<\/em><\/strong>, a selection of previously unreleased songs from his long career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
