The band never has a stable line-up but is had a fluid collective of artits moving around a creative focal point represented by frontman <strong>Kurt Wagner<\/strong>. Their music doesn\u2019t subscribe to a sole genre but ranges form country to soul to jazz and again to every imaginable type of contemporary music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group formed in Nashville in 1986 as a simple trio comprising <strong>Wagner<\/strong>, guitarist <strong>Jim Watkins<\/strong>, and bassist <strong>Marc Trovillion<\/strong>. Originally called <strong>Posterchild<\/strong>, the band was self-produced and released a series of tapes titled I\u2019m<em> F*cking Your Daugther<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With time <strong>Lambchop<\/strong>\u2019s line-up extended and in 1992 they release, together with Crop Cricle Hoax, the single \u201cAn Open Fresca + A Moist Towelette\u201d and \u201cNine\u201d in 1993 with the label Merge. Their debut album <em>I Hope You\u2019re Sitting Down <\/em>(<em>aka Jack\u2019s Tulips<\/em>) was released a year later and included the fan favorite \u201cSoaky in the Pooper\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1996 <em>How I Quit Smoking <\/em>as released, followed in 1996 by the EP <em>Hank. <\/em>The real turning point was the 1997 album <strong><em>Thriller <\/em><\/strong>that introduced the absolute eclecticism that would also charcterize the band\u2019s subsequent projects like <em>What Another Man Spills<\/em> (1998), the conceptual album <em>Nixon <\/em>(2000), and the collection <em>Tools in the Dryer<\/em> e <em>Is a Woman <\/em>(2002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first decade of the 2000s saw <strong>Lambchop <\/strong>measure themselves gainst the band\u2019s most ambitious project: the simoultaneous relase of two albums in 2004, <em>Aw C\u2019Mon<\/em> and <em>No, You C\u2019mon<\/em>, for recording of which the band employed an entire string section.<br>A year later the EP <em>CoLAB<\/em> was published, a musical experiment followed by 2006\u2019s <em>The Decline of Country &amp; Western Civilization<\/em>. 2008 saw the release of <em>OH (Ohio)<\/em>, followed bu the eleventh album <em>Mr. M. <\/em>that pressented eleven tracks illustrating life and loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2012 <strong>Wagner <\/strong>launched the parallel project <strong>HeCTA<\/strong>, the musical elemnts of which influenced <strong>Lamchop<\/strong>\u2019s next project, <em>FLOTUS <\/em>(2016). three years later <em>This (Is What I Wanted to Tell You) <\/em>brought the band\u2019s sound closer to the electronic genre, aided by extensive use of the autotune on <strong>Wagner<\/strong>\u2019s voice.<em>Trip <\/em>(2020) is the American band\u2019s newest album which collects six cover choosen by the various members of the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lambchop.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":9178,"menu_order":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false},"class_list":["post-2422","artisti","type-artisti","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Lambchop - Ponderosa<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/ponderosa.it\/en\/artist\/lambchop\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Lambchop - Ponderosa\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Lambchop is one of the most brilliant and unique band risen from the American music scene of the Nineties.
