Feist<\/strong>, the stage name for Leslie Feist<\/strong> (1976), is a Canadian singer-songwriter famous for the depth and intimacy of her lyrics together with her folk and indie-rock sonorities, appreciated by the international public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her passion for music started at the age of fifteen when she founded a group called Placebo<\/strong> (homonym of the famous English one), which won a contest to be the opening band during Ramones<\/strong>\u2019 concerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feist<\/strong>\u2019s debut was marked by the publication of her solo album Monarch (Lay Your Jewelled Head Down)<\/em> (1999) followed by the experience with the group Broken Social Scene<\/strong> with whom she published You Forgot It in People<\/em> (2002).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2004 she signed with Polydor record label and released Let It Die<\/em><\/strong>, an album thanks to which Feist<\/strong> started to be considered as one of the most promising songwriters of indie and jazz panorama. Let It Die<\/em><\/strong> won two Juno Awards as Best Alternative Rock Album and Best New Artist, while the song \u201cMushaboom\u201d was included in the soundtrack for the film (500) Days of Summer by Marc Webb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feist<\/strong> published her third album in 2007: The Reminder<\/em><\/strong>, which immediately positioned itself among the first twenty albums in numerous American charts and granted her the possibility to start an international tour and produce the documentary Look at What the Light Now<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four years later, Feist<\/strong> published Metals<\/em><\/strong> (2011), which placed itself at 9th<\/sup> position in Billboard\u2019s Chart, was nominated as album of the year by The New York Times, and won one Polaris Award and two Juno Awards. Metals<\/em><\/strong> is a query on secrets and shame, loneliness and tenderness and it presents itself as an extremely intimate album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six years later Feist <\/strong>released her latest album: Pleasure<\/em><\/strong> (2017). It is considered an album of rupture from classical folk music and a collection of songs with a very defined rhythmic trace and a distinct sensuality. The record received four Grammy nominations, showed the extreme depth of Feist<\/strong>\u2019s music, and granted the Canadian artist the possibility to perform at Tri.p Music Festival in Milan <\/strong>in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
