Cristina Don\u00e0<\/strong>, born in 1967, played an important role in defining a new era of rock music and is one of the few Italian artists able to confront the other great international musicians who revolutionized the figure of author and performer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cristina Don\u00e0<\/strong> has always been able to renew herself, becoming first a reference point, and then an inspiring artist for the new generations of Italian musicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cristina<\/strong> published her first album, Tregua, <\/em><\/strong>in 1997 which was positively welcomed by the public. She was assigned the Targa Tenco as best debut album and the famous drummer Robert Wyatt nominated it as one of his favorite albums in an article for British monthly magazine Mojo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u00e0<\/strong>\u2019s success was confirmed by the release of Nido<\/em> (1999), the assignment by Club Tenco of the Targa SIAE as Best Rising Artist, and her performance during London\u2019s Meltdown Festival<\/em> in 2001, where she was the first Italian artist to perform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following years were full of releases: Dove sei tu<\/em> (2003), Cristina Don\u00e0<\/em><\/strong> (2004), which was listed in Billboard\u2019s Europe Chart and received positive reviews by Sunday Times and Mojo, and La quinta stagione<\/em><\/strong> (2007). This latter album was a perfect example of Cristina<\/strong>\u2019s musical production and was awarded as Best Italian Album in 2007 by Musica&Dischi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2008, Cristina<\/strong> published Piccola Faccia<\/em>, in which she reinterpreted some of her hits in a more essential way and dueted with Negramaro\u2019s leader Giuliano Sangiorgi. Two years later Don\u00e0 <\/strong>published Torno a casa a piedi<\/em> (2011).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2014 she released Cos\u00ec Vicini<\/em><\/strong> and the song \u201cIl senso delle cose\u201d won the Targa Tenco as Best Song of the year. Two years later Cristina <\/strong>won the De Andr\u00e8 Award thanks to her reinterpretations of the Italian singer-songwriter\u2019s songs during a concert at Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2016 Don\u00e0<\/strong> received the Bindi Career Award<\/strong>, published Tregua 1997-2017 Stelle Buone<\/em>, and started an international tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019 Cristina was published Ginevra Di Marco & Cristina Don\u00e0<\/em>, a collaborative album with the songwriter Ginevra di Marco supported by a crowdfunding campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u00e0<\/strong>\u2019s most recent project is deSidera<\/em><\/strong>, both an album and a concert in collaboration with Ponderosa Music&Art.<\/strong> Cristina<\/strong> says about the record: \u00ab deSidera<\/em><\/strong>, was born in these times with cloudy horizons and blurred ideas. Is a wild creature, which observes humans with a tilted head and wide-open eyes while it investigates the double nature of desire to better understand who we are\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The homonymous concert is the chance to appreciate the evocative sonorities of the album and its unconventional arrangements. Together with Cristina<\/strong> the producer and musician Saverio Lanza will perform on the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On My 7th<\/sup> 2020, Don\u00e0 published her first 7\u201d vinyl: the 45rpm vinyl is a limited edition and contains two of the most important songs of the Italian singer-songwriter \u201cSettembre\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cUniverso\u201d<\/strong>, which are re-edited in a new \u201ctheatre version\u201d featuring the artistic direction of Saverio Lanza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
