Bio

Ludovico Einaudi returns to the Arena di Verona with a new interpretation of one of his great classics

Ten years after the memorable concert in the summer of 2014 and just over ten years after the release of one of his most significant and beloved albums, Ludovico Einaudi returns to the Arena di Verona and the tracks of “In A Time Lapse” to imagine them in a new way with a new instrumental ensemble. Says the composer:

“I thought of In A Time Lapse partly because of the 10-year anniversary I just celebrated and partly because I think it is still a very current project, with several songs that have become classics of mine, such as Experience, which I play often. Depending on the ensemble I choose to play with, I stitch it together and reinvent it each time.”

Joining Einaudi on piano will be Federico Mecozzi, violin and viola; Redi Hasa, cello and electric cello; Rocco Nigro, accordion; Alberto Fabris, electric bass and synth bass; Sebastiano De Gennaro, percussion; Gianluca Mancini, live electronics; and multi-instrumentalist Francesco Arcuri.

The year 2024 starts well for Ludovico Einaudi with three concerts in January at the Dubai Opera House, Hegra in Saudi Arabia, and the Esplanade in Singapore. From there he will then move on to Australia in February with a five-concert sold-out residency at the Sydney Opera House, three at the Perth Festival and the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. A tour to major old theaters such as those in Vienne and Carcassonne is taking shape in the summer.

The year just ended was once again noteworthy, with sold-out tours in the great theaters of South America (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico), and in the great arenas of Europe (Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Czech Republic, France, Belgium, Switzerland) and the United Kingdom. In early autumn again a tour of Asia Minor and Central Asia, from Turkey to Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan to Georgia, culminating in the extraordinary piano solo concert in Registan Square in Samarkand.
