Rachele Bastreghi

Bio

Rachele Bastreghi, born in 1977 and a singer in the Italian band Bauselle, is considered one of the most recognizable and enchanting personalities of the Italian pop-rock musical scene. Rachele is an author and multi-instrumentalist: she plays keyboards, drums, clavinet, and organ.

Rachele Bastreghi’s artistic career began in the mid-nineties, when she joined Bauselle, initially as a guitarist, along with Claudio Brasini, Francesco Bianconi, Mirko Cappelli, Michele Angiolini and Fabrizio Massara.

Between 2000 and 2018, Rachele published eight studio albums with the band, participated in the composition of the soundtrack for the film Giulia non esce la sera by Giuseppe Piccioni, and acquired an increasingly important role within Baustelle, which thanks to her contribution, affirmed themselves as one of the most interesting examples of Italian alternative pop.

Rachele showed her compositional talent in songs such as “Dark room”, “Sergio”, “Nessuno”, “Monumentale”, “Betty”, and “Eurofestival”, while undertaking numerous collaborations as a soloist. Some of the most important ones were the ones with Virginiana Miller, Le Luci Della Centrale Elettrica, Afterhours, and La Crus.

In 2015, she signed an editorial contract as a soloist with Sugar Music, and her song “Ci rivedremo poi” was included in the album Eccomi by Patty Pravo, one of Rachele’s musical references.

But 2015 was also the debut year of Rachele’s first solo recording project: Marie, entitled as the character she played in the Italian television show Questo nostro amore 70 (2014). The album was a tribute to the music and atmospheres of the Seventies and contained seven tracks, including two covers: “Cominciava così” by Equipe84 and “All’inferno insieme a te” by Patty Pravo. Marie was recorded in collaboration with Marco Tagliola, Vinicio Capossela, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, Sergio Carnevale (Bluvertigo), Fabio Rondanini (Calibro 35), Niccolò Fabi, and Marco Carusino. It confirmed the unmistakable quality of Rachele’s voice: a unique blend of talent, charm, and charisma that makes her one of the leading female personalities of the Italian music scene.

After Marie, Rachele made several other collaborations as an author, such as the one in 2017 with Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi for the song “Baby Dull” included in his album La mia generazione.

In 2018 Rachele participated with “Le Cose Che Pensa” at LB/R La Bellezza Riunita, an album of reinterpretations of Lucio Battisti’s songs written with Pasquale Panella.

In the same years Rachele published together with Baustelle two albums: L’amore e la violenza (2017) and L’amore e la violenza – Vol.2 (2018) for Warner Music Italy.
